Ahimsa Yoga & Meze Event

I had a wonderful day practising Ahimsa yoga with Lianne @flowyogauk and the lovely people who attended our event.

We started the day with a energising welcome juice and a talk with Lianne about the elements of Ahimsa and what self care means to each of us. It was really interesting to hear more about it and also share stories within the group.

Lianne then held a flow yoga session while I finished preparing lunch, which was a pleasure to make and share with everyone who came. It was truly fantastic to see all of the new faces with a similar mindset come together and share a meal.

The dishes I served were all vegan (in the theme of ahimsa which means non harming) and as well as being kind to the planet, they were designed to be kind to our bodies too (even the desserts… because we all need a bit of sugar every now and then!) The afternoon consisted of a brilliant self massage lesson with Joanne and finally a very therapeutic and relaxing hour of yin yoga.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the day and it was a pleasure to meet everyone who came. Huge thanks to Lianne to organising it for us and I can’t wait to host more events like this in the future!

Glastonbury goodies

Baked these tonight for my other half (a savoury alternative to the obscene amount of confectionary he is also taking with him!) These are cheese, courgette & chilli flapjacks with a hint of marmite and cayenne. Hope they go down well!

We are Family

A perfect summer evening spent with family and friends in my grandparents’ garden. I loved everything about it, from the food preparation over the past few days, to the setting up with my grandma and auntie Christine, to the mingling with our guests over drinks and of course seeing all of the dishes being eaten and enjoyed by my loved ones. Cheers to all of these wonderful people that I am proud to call my relatives 🥂 •

Monday nourishment

After a busy weekend away, Monday evening calls for some nourishing but comforting food. This is a sausage & chickpea tomato bake with mozzarella & parmesan, served with freshly made crusty rolls and a simple green salad.

Birthday Cheesecake

My younger sister turned 21 yesterday and to celebrate we are having a party at my parents’ house with many of our family and friends today. My contribution to the preparations includes this strawberry cheesecake, along with some of my spiced nuts and Parmesan biscuits, and drinking more than my fair share of the champagne! 🎂🥂

Salad Queen

Fact: salads are not boring! 🥗 my family used to jokingly call me a rabbit because I ate so much lettuce / salad in general but I genuinely do love a good salad.

I dislike a limp, lifeless bowl of plain iceberg, cucumber and tomato as much as the next person but when you put a little effort in to making your salad bowl more than just that, it becomes something SO delicious AND nutritious (in the words of m&s) that it’s hard to find something much better.

Tonight I went for a crispy bacon, avocado, tomato salad on a bed of spinach topped with pine nuts 👌🏼
