Sweet Meze

This was my first attempt at the traditional Greek Baklava – made with filo pastry, nuts, orange zest, butter, honey, sugar and lemon juice.

Think I will be practicing these a few more times as they haven’t turned out looking quite as perfect as they were supposed to… although they do taste good 😋

Super sweet and typically enjoyed at the end of a meal with a coffee (or first thing in the morning if you’re anything like my mum who would happily eat cake for breakfast every day if she could!)

I’m going on a road trip with some of my best friends from school today and it would be rude to get in the car without bringing snacks as petrol payment 🚗😎 so these sweet treats will be coming along with me!
